Inspired by a routine from Martin Gardner's The Encyclopedia of Impromptu Magic (1978), this effect is a marvel of penetration magic.
Invite your spectator to examine a needle, a thread, and a Half Dollar coin. Have them sign one side of the coin, while you sign the other, making it completely unique.
Wrap the signed coin in aluminum foil. Both you and the spectator hold it firmly, clearly feeling the solid coin through the foil.
Then the impossible happens: the needle and thread visibly pass through the coin.
When the foil is unwrapped, the coin is seen to be perfectly intact, with both signatures still clearly visible.
