Overview
A massive 450-page book containing more than 30 professional effects-a lifetime of work, from a world-class performer.
Mosaic is a tremendous collection of Christian Scherer's most powerful creations. These routines have been honed over four decades in front of real audiences, and this marks the first time many of them are being published in English.
Renowned for his creativity, award-winning performances, and expert prop-making ability, Christian Scherer is a respected name in German-speaking magic circles. Until now, though, his work has remained largely under the radar in other parts of the world. Mosaic changes that, bringing his most cherished material to light in a beautiful linen hardback that spans more than 40 years of innovation.
The title reflects Christian's core magical philosophy: great magic is the result of carefully refined smaller parts being brought together to create a larger whole. This book is so much more than just a collection of tricks. Mosaic is a behind-the-scenes peek into the mind of a magician who believes every detail and moment must serve the greater experience.
Inside, you'll discover an expansive range of magic for all skill levels and tastes. There's everything from exceptional card work to standout coin routines like the "World's Smallest Currency Converter," which will change your approach to the Okito Box. Christian has also developed unique effects like "Free Fall," which allows you to present the illusion of slowing time down; as well as quirky parlor pieces such as "Magic Miniature Golf," a hilarious routine involving teleporting golf balls and a mysterious golf club.
Beyond the techniques and routines, Christian also shares his reflections on magic through a variety of theory pieces. His perspective on the Cups and Balls is guaranteed to challenge and elevate your approach to the classic of magic. He's also included his personal scripting and staging notes for each effect to ensure you have every detail needed to fully grasp the routines.
This spectacular linen hardback exudes the quality you've come to expect from Vanishing Inc., the world's leading producer of magic books. More than 700 hand-rendered illustrations enhance the learning experience and the ribbon bookmark perfectly complements the elegance of this masterful text.
Whether you're a working performer or simply a lover of thoughtful, original magic, Mosaic is a worthy addition to any magic library.
