Overview
Introducing Flying Silk (regular model) by Quique Marduk
This is the classic device to make a silk fly on stage.
The silk can go in straight line or rotating around a stick, microphone, etc, giving the impression that it comes and goes.
It can be used in your hand (hidden) or by an assistant from out of stage.
The mechanism is smoth and very silent, the spool has an extremely thin but highly resistant monofilament with a length of 30 feet.
Works with a regular 9 volt battery
Silk and battery does not included

Common questions
- Is Flying Silk suitable for beginners?
- Not quite. It is rated intermediate, so some prior sleight-of-hand experience helps.
- Can I perform Flying Silk surrounded?
- No. It is front-facing only — keep your audience in front of you, within roughly 180°.
- Do I need sleight of hand to perform Flying Silk?
- No. The method is gimmick-based, so the prop does the work rather than your hands.
- How long does Flying Silk take to reset?
- About five minutes, so reset it between sets rather than between tables.
- Can I perform Flying Silk on camera or over Zoom?
- It is not listed for virtual or camera performance. The recommended settings are Parlour / Stand-up, Stage / Large Audience.
- How much preparation does Flying Silk need?
- Some assembly is required before your first performance.
- Will Flying Silk fit in my pocket?
- Yes. It packs small enough to carry in a pocket.
